A real letter, annotated

This is what a good letter looks like

From an actual circle on this site. The margin notes show why it works.

“The issue was that passing along ‘Morales is the deciding vote’ won you the game… That frustrated me, as the goal led me to believe that I was the one who would act… Realizing Washington took it from me made me give an audible ‘yuck!’”

It's exhaust — this observation only exists because the author's own demo broke while he played it. Not a promo for anything.

“I've been working on a demo of a spycraft game. You live in dossiers and secrets, plan where to apply leverage and how to gain access, and master agent handling.”

The game isn't the topic — the problem is. One sentence of context, then back to the idea.

“These might be shoehorned into the six categories but I'm not sure. … A dead multiplayer game isn't even broken. You could revive it with enough player interest. So is it really a failure of promise if you can't find a match?”

It ends open — the letter closes on the question the author couldn't answer. Replies are the point: a peer can test the claim against their own games. And notice: nothing is being sold to you.
